Teresa Love, PhD

Teresa Love, PhD, has been with IVAT since 2022. She is the Senior Editorial Assistant for the organization’s three research journals.

Teresa has 30+ years of experience successfully engaging with people from around the world through intercultural communication and travel. She started her international and intercultural journey in 1991 with the service and performance organization, Up With People. After receiving a MS in Recreation, Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Teresa traveled to Uganda to conduct research on the impacts of tourism on a small rural village. She completed her PhD in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University. Teresa served as a tourism professor at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Radford University (Radford, VA). She has designed and facilitated study abroad experiences for university students and has accompanied learners on educational adventures to France, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Japan, and Indonesia.

Teresa appreciates working with researchers from around the world through her work with the Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment and Trauma, the Journal of Family Trauma, Child Custody and Child Development, and the Journal of Child Sexual Abuse.
