Teri Schroeder, LCSW

Teri Schroeder is a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and practice owner with close to 20 years of experience providing counseling, social services, program management, and clinical direction. She is currently the Co-Owner and Co-Director of Just Mind, a private counseling center in Austin, Texas that she runs together with her husband William, who is also a therapist. Together, Teri and William have grown Just Mind to become a large center with more than 30 therapists of diverse backgrounds and specialization areas.

A native of Texas, Teri grew up in Tyler and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Social Work both from the University of Texas at Austin. She worked in crisis centers, non-profit agencies, and school settings for many years before moving into private practice. Her non-profit background includes counseling work at a domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center, and managing a school-based support program for at-risk adolescents.

As a therapist, Teri works with adults and adolescents, and she specializes in adult and childhood trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, and helping clients through difficult life transitions. She is a Certified Practitioner and Approved Consultant for EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), an evidence-based treatment for PTSD and trauma recovery. As a practice co-owner, she focuses her work on clinical direction, management of operations, hiring, and staff development. Teri lives with her husband, their dog Henry, and their cat Jerry, and she loves all things related to food and travel.
