Research-to-Practice (R2P)
IVAT’s Bridging Research-to-Practice (R2P)
IVAT’s Bridging Research-to-Practice (R2P) initiative bridges the gap between research and practice in the interpersonal violence field, translating current research into accessible, actionable resources in multiple formats that support front-line service providers, advocates, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, communities, and individuals with lived experience. Through a coordinated network, IVAT’s R2P builds sustained connections in the interpersonal violence field, informing and improving treatment and prevention efforts, as well as victim/survivor and offender services. This initiative addresses a long-standing challenge in the field in supporting individuals affected by violence, abuse and trauma: the gap between research discoveries and their implementation in real-world practice.
The Evidence Exchange
The Evidence Exchange is an online newsletter that highlights recent research and summarizes key findings and practice implications in clear, digestible language for those working with individuals who have experienced violence, trauma and/or abuse. These peer-reviewed data briefs are co-developed by researchers and service providers.

The Field Note Forum
The Field Note Forum is an interactive panel featuring a collaborative discussion focusing on current and emerging issues on topics where perspectives across disciplines may differ. The aim is that everyone leaves a Forum having learned something from someone whose perspective they would not otherwise have encountered, and with concrete next steps they carry back into their own work. Registration opens soon for October and November 2026 Forums.
